Wednesday 13th August

Hi Everyone,

Oh - I feel like I've been neglecting my loyal web followers for so long now - I actually feel guilty. Apologies everyone - I have no new beads STILL for the website - well, I have beads, but I'm desperately trying to make enough pretties for the Bonded Warehouse Glass Bead Fair at Stourbridge, which is only a couple of weeks away on 23rd August so there is nothing to sell right now on here - I'll try and list something special just for my Web people - please check back now and then - you never know.......

Now, fellow beadmakers - there's still time to purchase some lovely clear Lauscha - I'll be taking some to Stourbridge where you can pick it up if you want - just let me know or follow the link on the left of the page.

Now, a heads up regarding Tuition as well as my usual one-to-one classes - I have got together with Diana East for a very special joint teaching course on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 28th and 29th SEPTEMBER 2008. This is a Full Professional Grounding Course in making Lampwork Beads. CLICK HERE for more details.

The Venue is at Studio 19, Diana's very comfortable and well equipped studio in Enderby, Leicestershire (which is about ten miles from my studio). The course is aimed at beginners and runs for two days. Price is £250 for the two days, where you will have complete access to both Diana and myself as tutors. If you are interested in attending this course, please get in touch with me in the first instance and I can give you more details, check availability and book you in.

Just to let you know of an exciting exhibition called TEMPEST which will be on during the International Biennale Festival of Glass in Stourbridge during August. Here's my exhibition bead called "Fury". If you get a chance to go and see the wonderful glass at Stourbeidge I really urge you to go. I shall be selling my beads also at the Bonded Warehouse Glass Bead fair on Saturday 23rd August.

And remember this fab necklace using my beads and Leigh's gorgeous silver? Well, you can see it all through the month of August as my friends from Frit Happens have chosen it as part of their new 2008 Calendar. You can get your copy here - a great pressy for a beady minded friend!

As usual, when you see beads that you like just email me to reserve your item, I can then either send out a Paypal invoice or you can pay by cheque.

And remember I promised you some pictures of my newly refurbished shed? Well, take a click on the studio below to see more:

New Teeny Silver Core beads - CLICK HERE!!

I'm really pleased to announce a few more teeny silver cored beads. These will fit onto most of the European bracelet systems and there are a few biggies too.

I try to keep as many teenies coming as possible - they're a little fiddly to make so please check back regularly as I never really know when I'm going to make a batch, and let me know if you want to go on my mailing list by dropping me an email. Then, I'll let everyone know when new teenies are available.

Teaching - Yes I teach people to make lampwork glass beads - and you can learn too!

Check out these beads - by Paula.

I think you'll agree they're not bad for someone who'd never even seen a lampworking torch a few hours previously!

You might like to know that I only ever teach on a one-to-one basis so it is a very intense course, and many of my past students go on to make great beads - some of them full time - please see my teaching page for details and how to book. Please email me if you require further information.

Need to know more? Contact me to go on my mailing list - and I will let you know of new RedHotSal happenings.

Thanks for stopping by!

Incidentally - if you like to buy handmade lampwork beads from Ebay but are put off by having to trawl through acres and acres of listings of cheap and nasty Chinese imports you might like to know about the SRA system. SRA stands for Self Representing Artist. This is a body set up by Melinda Melanson, you may like to check out the website. A self representing artist is someone who creates and sells their or their immediate families work. A self representing artist does not sell mass produced beads under the SRA logo.

I've been a member for a little while - look out for the logo:

Oh - don't forget to visit the Top 100 Lampwork websites for more lampworking people and beads, and if you like the site - please rate it. Thanks everyone.
